WHAT YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT TOP NAIJA GOSPEL SINGER, DR LANRE TERIBA ATORISE

 

Olanrewaju Michael Afolabi  Teriba popularly known as Atorise is one of the biggest gospel singers in Nigeria and Isara-Remo born musician is one of the very few gospel musicians who are making waves in the industry.He was born by  Late Prophetess Mrs. Hannah Atinuke Teriba(Eltekolaina) and Pa late Samuel Oladimeji Awomosu Teriba.

LanreTeriba was born over  40yrs ago in lagos, he's the 4th of his parents 5 children who are all boys. His father is from Isara-Remo, Ogun State while his mother is  from Ifon in Ondo State. He attended Christ Centre Primary School, Ilupeju, Lagos State.

He used to love football and Boxing because  there was a Boxing Training Club in his primary school premises, and he always stay behind after school to watch the players train. His secondary education was at Estate Grammar School  Oshodi, Lagos.

He was in the schools football team also  was in the cultural music group and later formed the school Kegites with some other classmates, where he was both“songito” (singer) and “dru mi to” (drummer). At one point he joined the kegites club in the school (ilya du potato). During his polytechnic days, he joined the C&S unification church  together with other members of the choir,he released an album and he was the lead singer.

Lanre Teriba was born and bred in a C&S home. His mother was  one of the church prophetess at the Bar beach in the 70s. During his primary school days,  with his brothers he joined a church very close to his family house then, Holy Star C&S church.  Where  discovered as an excellent singer and drummer. Lanre Teriba`s musical career actually started at his tender age at the Christ foundation voices, where  his bands name started with him and his friends during their junior class days in the secondary school.

Lanre Teriba's debut was “ATORISE” which means“the Reformer”. This album brought him to limelight. His face and voice got permanently registered on people's minds. The name become a household name and so, he eventually adopted the name as his stage name. Afterwards he did“Atorise Remix” where he funkirfied the song a little. Then “ONISE IYANU”. In the middle of all these, Atorise did series of gospel collabos with some gospel artistes. Then he did “ALAGBAWI NLA”, “ADEHUN AYO”, “KING OF KINGS”, “NEW CHAPTER”, “THE PROMISE & FULFILLMENT” a double album, and “SOULMATE” with a special hip hop track dedicated to lovers, he has featured in several albums. He also released  HaLELUYAH and Unstoppable God”
